The Groove Therapy Band
Charlotte Gordon: Voice and Keyboard
Charlotte has been a professional musician since age 18, working in local and regional bands in the Midwest and the Southwest United States. She teaches General Music and Choir at a charter school in Surprise, AZ and accompanies students and adults for festivals and auditions. Charlotte has performed in several variety bands in the Phoenix area, including the Freddie Duran Plan and Desert Fiesta. Charlotte has also performed on local artists' CDs/videos and has recorded radio voice-overs for local and national commercials. |
Michael Myers: Voice and Drums
Mike has been performing publicly for over 40 years; playing all styles of drumming in various bands and ensembles. His performance highlights include a two year stint on Carnival Cruise Lines as a variety band drummer, opening for Santana, drumming with jazz pianist David Benoit and touring the USA with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. Currently, Mike directs concert bands at a charter school in Surprise AZ, teaches percussion lessons at "Musical Surprise" and performs with "Arizona Winds" Symphonic Band. |
Christine Novello: Voice and Percussion
Christine grew up surrounded by music, and has been a professional musician and actor since the age of 18. She has had a successful career as an executive with some of the world's largest corporations, but always kept her toe (sometimes her entire foot!) in music. Over the years, Christine has fronted several bands in the northeast US, sung backup vocals for performers both famous and infamous, and even played the stage of the hallowed CBGB in New York. Christine often lends her voice to local music projects, and has sung with several bands in the West Valley, including Sonoran Blues Rock. Christine is thrilled to now be singing with The Groove Therapy Band! |
Jeff Pfunder: Guitar and Voice
Jeff started play guitar at age 14 in a classical guitar class in high school. He soon found himself picking up guitar leads by turning down his record player to 16RPM to pick out the notes at a slower pace, then working the leads up to normal speed. Between the ages of 20-30, he played in numerous “Big Hair” bands like Tangent, VOX, Myth, Helms Deep, and The Morning Glories. At age 30 he went back to school and got a degree in electronics. After acquiring a much higher paying job he found himself bitten by the music bug once again. He soon found himself in a country band this time called Midnight Canyon. He found the clean guitar ”chicken picken” in most country leads quite challenging and increased his lead guitar vocabulary immensely. Since then he has played in numerous and varied bands like: Fieldtrip (all original grunge band), Mirror Image (R&B and oldies copy band), 3rd Rock (rock copy band), Vinyl Nova (Original and Americana/rock copy band) and now The Groove Therapy Band. |
Eric Roeling: Bass
Eric has been playing the electric bass guitar for much more of his life than he hasn't. In spite of holding down the bottom in a long string of rock, jazz, blues and roots bands, he has so far successfully managed to remain in complete obscurity. As an ordained Dudeist priest, he believes it extremely important to take it easy and to leave a lot of space in one's life to relax, so being unfamous is a distinct benefit. He plays the bass the same way - unfussy and relaxed, groovy and uncluttered. In his spare time, he likes to make a small amount of money that he usually blows on bills & food, and enjoys hanging out with the other people that live in his house. Eric is a Taurus. His shoe size is 12. He has a totally bitchin' record collection. |
